Mount Holly is a hidden gem in the greater Charlotte area! Some of Jamal and Lily's favorite spots are in Mount Holly, including small businesses like Smoke and Barrel Cigar Lounge, Traust Brewing, Cleary's Bookstore, One19 North Main, Samvay's Wings and Subs (located inside Lee's Quick Shop), and Catawba Coffee Co!

Belmont is another hidden gem in the greater Charlotte area! Some of Jamal and Lily's favorite spots in Belmont are the Belmont Bookshop (also a great spot to grab a glass of wine), Nellie's Southern Kitchen, and Everyday Market!

This is where Jamal proposed to Lily, surrounded by close friends and family! Rosie's is a beautiful quaint wine and coffee shop that is connected to the McGill Rose Garden.

Fun fact: It also happens to be Lily's favorite spot in Charlotte!

Need to swing by Target or Marshalls? Want to pick up something from the grocery store? Rivergate Shopping Center has it all.

Pro tip: The Wine Shop at Rivergate is a great spot to grab a light meal and a glass of wine! Salud!

Want some flavor in your life? Optimist Hall is our favorite spot to bring out of town guests - this is a modern food hall with options for every taste palette (and their bar is pretty good too!).

Pro tip: if you are wanting food to-go, you can order a to-go order for many of the food stalls through the optimist hall website!

When Jamal and Lily first started dating during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, they went on a lot of hiking dates to try and get outside and keep a safe distance away from people. The US National Whitewater Center has a little bit for everyone who loves the outdoors - from many hiking trails and paddle boarding, to whitewater rafting and ziplining - there is something for everyone.

Or if you are like Lily, you can sit down and watch the people fall out of the boats (don't worry! There are safety precautions in place so that nobody gets hurt!)
